Contrary to general perception, Tumwater Falls is not a
municipal park.
It is open to the public free of charge by the nonprofit
Olympia Tumwater Foundation as a gift to the community. The
Park, built in 1962, requires over $200,000 annually to
operate and maintain.
The Park is in process of
removing invasive ivy, renovating bridges and upgrading the
trails.All
these cost money in excess of normal costs. The Park environment we enjoy requires a lot of
upkeeping!
