The Schmidt House

The historic Schmidt House was built in 1904 for Leopold F. Schmidt, founder of the Olympia Brewing Company, his wife and their five children. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Tumwater Register of Historic Places and is within the Tumwater Historic District. The picturesque grounds with native gardens, bronze statues and reflective pool are beautifully maintained.

Today the Schmidt House is maintained by The Olympia-Tumwater Foundation as a site for non profit meetings, private parties and business functions. Contributions for its use help to fund maintenance costs.
