Schmidt House History Talks

Explore local history once a month, from October to June, at the historic Schmidt House when scholars and community historians present illustrated noontime history talks.  Find out about local families and businesses, historic architecture, geography, Native American history, and how the South Sound region has changed over time.

The Schmidt House is located at 330 Schmidt Place SW in Tumwater, Washington 98501. Schmidt House History Talks are held on the third Thursday of each month from October to June. Doors open at 11:30 and the talks run from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. Talks are free to the public. Donations are welcomed.

Each history talk is videotaped by Thurston Community Television (TCTV) and cablecast on Tumwater TV, cable Channel 26 in Thurston County.  History Talk programs run Sundays at 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m., Thursdays at 7:00 a.m., and Saturdays at  2:00 p.m. Check the TCTV website for the history talk currently showing http://www.tctv.net/channel_26.php
